DTR Environmental Policies and Goals

Green IT has become a trendy subject while also generating controversy. For some companies "eco-friendly" has become a “politically correct” marketing strategy —more than a real expression of personal values.

                      We believe there are real environmental problems to be solved
                       —and that we all must be aware and find ways to participate.

We also believe that as a company, our proactive approach must satisfy multiple goals as follows:

1. It's our policy to always respect our customers' values, principles and desires. We listen to what our clients say and take the time to understand things from their perspective. The bottom line is that DTR and its team are fully committed to solving our client's problems and providing the services and products that are approved by our customers. Trust and commitment mean everything to us.

2. We will continue to develop our knowledge and strategies that best contribute to solving environmental problems.

3. We serve as an advocate for the environment in regards to 3 goals: energy conservation, minimizing the use of hazardous materials and encouraging recycling and proper disposal of electronic waste.

4. The following are some general guideline strategies that we recommend:

• Use power-efficient equipment
• Use power-management technology and adopt power-saving best practices
• Use thin-client and virtualization technologies
• Consolidate SAN/NAS storage solutions
• Encourage telecommuting
• Recommend workflows and automation that reduces paper consumption
• Repurpose and reuse old systems and supplies
• Properly dispose of hazardous materials
